Mr David BreezeDirector, B.Ec MBA F.A.I.C.D

David is a corporate finance specialist with extensive experience in the stock broking industry and capital markets.  He has been a corporate consultant to Daiwa Securities; was formerly Manager of Corporate Services for Eyres Reed McIntosh and the State Manager and Associate Director for the stock broking firm BNZ North’s.

David has a Bachelor of Economics and a Masters of Business Administration, and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Management; an Associate Member of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors of Australia.  He has published in the Journal of Securities Institute of Australia and has also acted as an Independent Expert under the Corporations Act. He has worked on the structuring, capital raising and public listing of over 70 companies involving in excess of $250 million.  These capital raisings covered a diverse range of areas including oil and gas, gold, food, manufacturing and technology.

Mr Louis DelacretazChief Technical Officer & Co-Founder, MBA

Mr Delacretaz is one of the founders of Cortical Dynamics. He has over 30 years’ experience as the managing or technical director for a number of successful bio-technology, ICT and electronic manufacturing companies.

Louis has extensive experience in strategic planning, leading operational initiatives and operational management of business development, design & production facilities for globally marketed products. He possesses in-depth experience in dealing with government agencies, international organizations and forming startup organizations. Louis has an MBA, is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was a national finalist in the Yellow Pages Business Idea Awards.

Prof. David LileyCo-founder and Chief Scientific Officer,  MBChB, PhD

Professor David Liley is one of the founders of Cortical Dynamics and one of Cortical’s Key Personnel. He graduated in Medicine at the University of Auckland in 1990, completing a PhD in Psychiatry and Applied Mathematics in 1996.

Professor Liley currently holds honorary appointments in the Department of Medicine at the University of Melbourne, Clinical Neurosciences at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and the Centre for Human Psychopharmacology at Swinburne University of Technology.

Dr Mehrnaz ShoushtarianPhD

Dr. Mehrnaz Shoushtarian graduated with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Monash University in 2008. Her PhD work contributed to the emerging development of electrovestibulography as a novel diagnostic tool. Between 2008 and the present she was a post-doctoral Research Fellow within the Clinical Research Center for Movement Disorders and Gait at the Kingston Centre, Southern Health, Melbourne.

Her research interests include measurement and processing of physiological signals using conventional and novel recording techniques. She has conducted several clinical trials to assess progression of disorder and effects of medication on patients with neurodegenerative disorders, using different measurement techniques.

David is a medical device executive with 30+ years’ experience of commercialising biomedical technologies. He is the founder of Tenaxis Medical, where he raised $22m from investors and eventually sold the company in 2014 for $178m.

Dr Adrian SultanaMD, FRCP, FANZCA

Dr.Sultana MD FRCP (Glasg) FANZCA is a consultant anaesthetist in Sydney, Australia. He graduated from the University of Malta in 1984, trained in General Medicine in the UK, and graduated FANZCA in 1993 after specialist training in Sydney and Melbourne.

He is a Clinical Lecturer in Anaesthesia at the Australian School of Advanced Medicine, Macquarie University.

Dr. Sultana has a long-term interest and experience in anaesthesia and perioperative management of bariatric surgical patients and is currently the Executive Secretary of the International Society for the Perioperative Care of the Obese Patient (http://ispcop.net).

Dr. Sultana has regularly presented Scientific Papers in anaesthesia for obesity at national and international congresses in the last few years. He has tutored the topic of Obesity and Anaesthesia at the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists’ pre-examination course in Sydney since 1999.

His current research interests include novel airway techniques during anaesthesia for the morbidly obese; target controlled intravenous anaesthesia and opioid free anaesthetic techniques for Bariatric Surgery.
